Amazon.com Review Every home bartender needs a set like this one. Completely made of stainless steel, the elegantly designed set includes a brushed-finish ice bucket that holds one quart of ice, along with a polished stand that keeps six bartending tools at the ready. The tools consist of a pair of toothy tongs, stirring rod, bottle opener, cocktail whisk, bar knife, and double jigger. The last four utensils all have cylindrically shaped, weighted handles that provide good balance for the tasks at hand. The stirrer and stand feature unique fan-like handles. To preserve the luster of the steel, the barware set should be washed by hand. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 1 bar set. The set includes: ice bucket; stand; cocktail whisk; stirring rod; bottle opener; bar knife; tongs; double jigger. 8 pieces total.
Amazon.com Product Description You'll be the hit of every part with this elegantly designed, stainless steel barware set, which comes with a handy stand where all your tools will be at the ready and a 1-liter ice bucket. It includes everything you need to make any order that comes your way--from a classic lemondrop martini to a tropical mai tai. The set features a stainless steel bottle opener, pair of tongs, cocktail whisk, stirring stick, bar knife, and double jigger with handle. The long, brushed stainless steel handles are easily grasped and are a bit heavy for good balance. The stainless steel stand can be easily carried via a playfully designed handle. Hand washing is recommended.

Looks great on a bar December 22, 2008 I don't mix cocktails very often, so I am rating this mostly based on its looks. I like having nice things in my kitchen and stainless steel dominates. This set is extremely good looking and I love the fact that you can store tools in the compact bucket.
Unfortunately all the complaints that other reviewers have posted here are true. The knife cannot cut, the bottle opener is difficult to use and the ice bucket is not insulated. However, for someone like me who only uses bar tools occasionally it's practical enough and has a very reasonable price. And did I mention the esthetical value?
Cute little barset December 18, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a pretty cute, cunctional bar set, but I do have a few complaints about it. One, it doesn't come with a shaker... which seems like an essential for any bar set. Two, the included tool stand appears to only work when it's sitting IN the ice bucket, which is frankly mystifying... it tips over immediately if it's not in the ice bucket, because it's very topheavy. The third issue is that it doesn't come with a pamphlet or anything, not even a picture, that explains how the tools are supposed to sit in the stand, which resulted in my fiddling around with it trying to get it to stand upright until I struck upon putting it in the ice bucket.
The tools themseves are quite nice quality, and I'll probably just store them in a drawer.
Really Nice December 18, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
This set is nicer than I expected it would be. Nice, heavy stainless steel. I used to work in a kitchen store, and I know my way around stainless. It's attractive, it works, and it's all you need for a cocktail party! I have used it numerous times over the holiday season. You won't be disappointed.
A little overpriced for what you get .... December 18, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this set for a few weeks, and with the holiday entertaining routine, I've had a chance to put it to some use.
First, the good news: the set is well made and attractive with a very "modern" look and feel. The tools are weighty and nicely balanced. They do fine in the dishwasher, and look nice on my bar. The double jigger, strainer, tongs, and stir stick all do their jobs nicely. I used the bottle opener only a few times, and it was fine, but I'm not sure how it would stand up to a LOT of use. The stand that holds the utensils fits nicely inside the ice bucket, so it doesn't take up much room when not in use. It *is* attractive, and somewhat useful.
The bad news: the ice bucket isn't insulated or lined, and it's quite small (1 qt.). I had to set it on a coaster due to the condensation. It might do for a small intimate gathering of 2-3 people, but it's far too small for a party. I still can't figure out what the knife is supposed to do -- it's too dull to cut anything, but I suppose it could be used to "stab" an olive or onion or piece of lime.
I've seen other sets for comparable price (maybe a few dollars more) that include a cocktail shaker along with utensils that may be a better value.
This might be a good set for $20 or so (and if that were the price, I might even give it one more star); it's just not a great value at $30+.
It sure does look pretty, but does it make the cut? A Pinzon 8-Piece stainless-steel barware set review December 6, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received the Pinzon 8-Piece stainless-steel barware set manufactured in China for reviewing purposes. As a chef who specialized in catering, I have tended bar for many functions. Because of my previous career path, I tend to look at kitchen and bar items from a professional point of view. This set is not something I would use professionally, but keep in mind it is not supposed to.
This bar set was delivered in a thick brown cardboard box which doubled as the product's packaging. The box works well for shipping, but may be a concern if giving this set as a gift. Every piece was packaged for protection while the utensils were fastened to cardboard with at least two twist ties each. This is not a big problem but does take some effort and time to remove from the package and set up.
The uninsulated bucket measures 4-3/4" tall and 5-1/2" in diameter at the top and holds about a quart of ice. Maybe this is my professional voice speaking, but I can't see this bucket holding enough ice to serve a crowd. At the same time, the lack of insulation would allow the ice to melt at a normal pace. For a couple of people the ice may melt away before it all gets used. Otherwise one may need to refill the bucket often, making insulation unneeded. The tongs for the ice are thin compared to the rest of the set, but adequately do the job.
The utensil stand seems flimsy compared to the rest of the set, but does a decent job of storing the utensils. A rack with five holes provides places for the five utensils. There is a tab on the base that made no sense to me or my other half for the first week. This set came with no instructions other than "Please visit www.amazon.com/pinzon for care instructions." This link is a product promotion page showcasing the many available Pinzon items on Amazon; care instructions either don't exist or are hidden. I finally figured out what the tab is for while writing this review. It is meant for tong storage, by slipping the tong in to rest on their side.
The stir stick, bar knife, bottle opener, strainer, and double jigger all have a nice weight and feel to them. All the utensils are well constructed and should stand up to average use. The bottle opener works, but isn't designed for heavy use. It is sturdily constructed; my concern would be opening the bottles quickly enough for several people. For a home bar this most likely is not an issue. The bar knife struck me as useless right out of the package though. Trying to keep an open mind, I gave it a try anyway. The knife can barely saw through the rind of a lime, and if it does requires a ridiculous amount of effort. Expect to either let this knife collect dust and look pretty, or be replaced with something useful.
This set looks pretty and may make a nice gift for a person with a lightly used home bar. I am far more concerned with usefulness than pretty appearances; this set doesn't cut it for me. The ice bucket and bar knife don't measure up to my expectations, I won't be keeping this set.
PROS: Looks pretty
CONS: Small ice bucket not insulated Useless bar knife Nonexistent care instructions
