Product Description The Pavina highball glass is the winner of the European iF Design Award. The Pavina double wall glasses can be use the whole year round. You can use them for your cold drinks in summer and hot drinks in winter. They are made of a very strong but yet light weight glass (borosilicate glass). They can safely go in the dishwasher and microwave. No coaster needed.Bodum's insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass that weighs less than traditional glassware. Used to make scientific lab glass, borosilicate glass (medical grade glass) is stronger than traditional "soda-lime" glass and can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Some people may perceive the glass to be "thin" as they hold it. It is important to understand the difference between borosilicate and soda lime glass. Borosilicate glass doesn't need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is dishwasher safe and will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 100 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it. Simply treat it as you would any glass product and it will stand up to every day use. Our insulated, double wall glass
Amazon.com Review With futuristic looks and high-tech construction, Bodum's Pavina drinkware makes an exciting departure from traditional glassmaking. The walls of each vessel are crafted from two layers of clear glass, creating an optical illusion that the liquid is suspended inside. Softening the look, Pavina's shapes feature smooth, rounded silhouettes. The inner wall also curves slightly away from the outer wall for a touch of understated elegance. This set of two double wall cooler/beer glasses serves generous helpings of cool ale or warm grog. Crafted of borosilicate glass, which is also used to make scientific lab equipment, the pair is exceptionally strong, lightweight, and thermal. The two-layer construction also resists heat and prevents condensation, so no matter what temperature the beverage is, the glasses remain comfortable to hold and safe for any tabletop. Winner of the prestigious European IF Design Award, this 12-ounce, scratch-resistant set also goes into the dishwasher and microwave. Mix and match Pavina with the Assam and Canteen lines to stock the bar or dining table with a variety of fun shapes. --Kara Karll Editor's Note: Because the glasses are mouth blown, each one may have slight variations in height, thickness, and weight. Bodum recommends using care when placing ice into the glass to avoid fracturing the inner layer. Do not use metal spoons or place the glass into a crowded dishwasher.

Outstanding Product January 6, 2009 I just purchased the 2 oz espresso glasses and I love them. They are as beautiful in person as they are in the picture. My personal preference would have been to have them be a bit heaver, something that's heavy strikes me as being quality but nonetheless these look amazing. A hot shot of espresso doesn't permeate the double wall meaning that tasty drink stays hotter longer.
Would I purchase again? YES !!!!
3 of 8 broke in first year January 4, 2009 3 of 8 of these glasses broke in first year of normal use.
very dangerous glasses.
Love the Idea, the Style, the Look January 1, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These glasses are great. They're the most attractive ones I've ever used. This size (9 oz.) is great for coffee, and the show they reveal as the espresso machine is brewing each cup is interesting to say the least. The cups are sturdy, and they work perfectly as insulators against heat and table damage. I love that they don't need handles, so they're very sleek. I do have one problem in that the second set I ordered was about 1/4" shorter than the first, but the volume is still the same, so no stars off for that. I would forgive them worse than that but don't have to.
Way too fragile December 29, 2008 This is for the Bodum Pavina Double-Wall Thermo Glasses 15 oz. The cool factor is undeniable, but please don't get sucked into it, as these things have the thinnest glass walls I have ever seen. I picked up a set of two, and out of the box I saw that one should have wound up in the same place they put three armed sweaters and other "seconds". Bubbles in the glass and the top had a wobble in the circumference so it wasn't quite flat. But I kept them 'cause they were cool. I was using the good one and it got knocked over on the table and broke into a million pieces. I have broken my share of wine glasses, but this was exceptional. For my twenty bucks, I have seconds quality glass that I don't see making it to the spring and a pile of glass fragments. These are certainly not stronger than "normal" glass. Maybe I got a bad batch...YMMV
Functional But Dainty December 26, 2008 All other reviewers have accurately recapped the functionality of these glasses and I am greatly enjoying the "no condensation" feature. The vaunted lightweight-ness of the glass make for a certain awkwardness in use (at least until you get used to them). I had a rather delicate decanter and am using these to compliment it.... all are on a glass tray and, to say the truth, the set was quickly reduced to a visual tableau rather than a daily user!
