Solid, durable, and practical December 7, 2008
Our family has been using these Libbey Gibraltar glasses for years. The design is classic and the quality is top-notch. They are nice and heavy, so they are less prone to being tipped over by kids or pets. The ridges help hands of all sizes keep a good grip on the glass. And they stand up to washing after washing in the dishwasher. Another reviewer said not to stack them, but we've been stacking these glasses two-high (upside down) in our kitchen cabinets for years without any problem. I've seen the glasses for less at other stores (Bed Bath & Beyond, for one), but the convenience of ordering them online with free shipping from Amazon.com (I'm a Prime member) is very nice. I actually have a reserve supply of these glasses in the basement, just in case of breakage. That's how much we like them! Highly recommended.

I have a large set of these glasses. I have plenty of the tall ones and the juice glasses, but I needed more of the medium sized ones (12 or 14 oz.) I looked in all the local stores and couldn't find them. I looked on the Internet under Libbey's website, but they didn't even have them except in huge wholesale amounts. I'm wondering if that size is discontinued for retail. Then I looked on Amazon and found them. I like this size because it's more versatile. Also, this type of glass is sturdy and doesn't break easily.
VERY DURABLE PRODUCT October 15, 2008
Used to have this kind of glass way back during the 60s when I was in the grade school. Back then, they just call it Duralex. Another brand with the same quality was, Arcoroc ( French made).We used to sell them in our store and used it at home too. You can use them for both, hot and cold water. They only break like your windshield when it hits a hard surface like concrete. Otherwise, it would last for years.

I purched these glasses to replace ones that have been broken. My wife and I chose this style since it is so popular. They are nery nice glasses.
I am very happy that I got them.

We've gone through a couple sets of these over the years. Every time we get to the point of the glasses showing their age or we've broken a couple, we go buy some more of these. The glasses look great and have a build quality you just don't find in similar items. We like the 14 oz. size, but use the 12 oz. and 7 oz., also.
The glasses have a feel to them that speaks to their quality. The best comparison I can think of is the glasses used by many bars and restaurants. In fact, I'm sure they are the same glasses in a lot of cases.
