Amazing January 9, 2009 The EP arrived at my house 2 days after I placed the order, which was so convenient. The product was brand new and flawless.
I expected nothing but the best from Coldplay, and of course, they delivered.
Actually, your feet are coming back down, so for god's sake, get ready January 7, 2009 Still riding the waves summoned by "Viva La Vida," the boys make like their heroes, Radiohead, and release a new product made from songs recorded during the sessions for their last album that weren't used on that album. A few of these eight tracks are as attractive as those on "Viva La Vida," but they lack the faux-bold production that made "Viva La Vida" seem so good. Now that the original with-lyrics version of "Life in Technicolor" has presented itself, it's even more clear that it's Martin's stab at giving his group their own "Where the Streets Have No Name"; for the record, this version seems much better than the one they actually used. "Rainy Day" sounds really cute, and "Glass of Water" sounds pretty nice, but neither amounts to a lot. The most exciting piece is "Lost+," which is the same as the real thing, only with a Jay-Z rap over the geriatric Edge-solo-wannabe. "Postcards from Far Away" presumes that people are digging Coldplay so much that they'll even be happy to hear a quaint 48-second piano piece--and they're probably right. Still, "Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground" sounds like an aggrivatingly foolish statement for Martin to make, especially since his premonition "People talking without speaking/Tryin' to take what they can get" in the title track sounds like he's describing his own band.
nothing is good as parachutes, but this could be ok.. January 7, 2009 nothing is really great as parachutes and arobtth...i hope coldplay will do other songs like all the songs written and played during the parachutes and arobtth period...they were coldplay....i love them...i still love them and their songs...but no song of x&y or viva la vida will ever be like parachutes or arobtth... all parachutes is perfect in my opinion, a rush of blood to the head is superb. they lost they essence but we have to consider that they couldn't do always the same songs...i miss parachutes but i think it has been good for them to have tried a new way...the problem is that i think it is not the correct right way...
anyway i like prospekt's march...i love glass of water, i like litii and i like prospekt's march..now my feet won't touch the ground is too much similar to til kingdom come but it is not bad..i often skip on rainy days...
anyway, please coldplay please play more parachutes and arobtth at your concerts!!!!!!!
Extraordinary "bonus" from Coldplay. January 6, 2009 I have to admit, I didn't know these new songs were coming after the release of Vida la Vida. Oddly, if this particular release were all that ever came out I would have been happy. So...bonus!
I don't think it's a stretch to argue that Prospect's March is the best song on both recordings.
"Don't you wish your life could be as simple As fish swimming around in a barrel Where you've got the gun"
Simply perfect. The imagery portrayed in this song is haunting.
Chris's piano work on track 2, "Postcards,: is as beautiful as I've heard from Coldplay, or any other artist in recent memory. I hope they've still got a few more albums left in them, but fear they're ready to call it a day as a band.
Highly recommended if you're a Coldplay fan.
Nice addition! December 28, 2008 Great addition to the Viva La Vida. Some of the songs sound more like the old Coldplay tunes. The Jay-Z cut of "Lost" is great too - I like that any artist can mix with the ever changing beats of Coldplay songs.
