Best alternate mouse September 2, 2008 Best mouse I've ever used. I have wrist pain and this took care of it. Love that custom settings for button.
Definitely A Good Buy For Me June 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was skeptical of the usefulness of this item, but it has turned out to be quite the winner for me. I use it all the time. ALL the time. I have problems in both my shoulders, which makes it painful for me to use my mouse for extended periods of time (I do it anyway though). The EasyCat 2-BTN Touchpad Black GP160U (I'm putting the full product name in my review, since there are several versions, and the reviews I looked at before making my purchase gave different scores for different versions) takes a load off my mouse hand (and shoulder).
Anyway, I haven't downloaded or installed the software that allows you to customize some functions (I believe there's some software for that). I just use it instead of my mouse, and it's great for moving around the screen, opening/closing programs, clicking links on web pages, etc.
It's light and small. The touchpad itself is about the same size as the one on my Toshiba laptop, so I felt right at home with it.
It was easy to set up. I just plugged it into a USB port and was ready in a few seconds (I use it on my Windows Vista Home Premium machine). I place my Easycat to the left of my keyboard, giving me quick access to the mouse with my right hand. The only issue is I haven't mastered the art of clicking and dragging, like when you're drawing a rectangle in a digital photo to crop out a section. I'm sure it would be easy with a little practice, but I just grab my mouse for selecting/dragging actions.
If you're looking for an alternative to using your mouse for everything, I can confidently recommend this product. It does make a difference.
Just what you think it is February 29, 2008 These things are hard to find! It looks just as the pictures show and works fine. You can double-tap on the touchpad, slide your finger up and down on the right side to go thru pages. The only thing I wish was different about this was that the cord would have been on the top instead of on the right side but this is a minor point. I've been using this for about a month and no complaints.
Wobbly as she goes! February 26, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Decent product, but mine was warped and won't sit level. It was a little annoying trying to use it while it wobbled around on its four uneven little rubber feet. I finally put some playdoh-like stuff on the feet to keep it from moving around because when you hit the left or right click button it would lift up the other side. Only used for a few days. Should have returned it.
Great product! January 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this one because of having pain working with a regular mouse. I've tried them all - the cheap mouses, the expensive, the ergonomic ones. This touch pad is fantastic, very comfortable and most important - makes it easy to work for long hours with no pains. The side and top areas of the touchpad use for zooming, scrolling and back-forward buttons for internet explorer. Also, there's an area used as a right-click button which is great!
A minor thing I should point out: I was having problems installing it on IBM Thinkpad with Vista. It kept on finding new unfamiliar hardware. I think it's because of the built in touchpad. Anyhow, I bought it for my office and there on a desktop with XP it works great and installation was easy.
Other then that, highly recommended!
