Product Description
After a recent break-up sent her into a self-imposed “personal hiatus,” thirty-something New York TV-promo producer Tori Miller is determined to get a life. The fastest way? A Hamptons summer share house. She ditches her old look—thanks to a last-minute makeover on a reality show pilot—and over the next three months, the new-and-improved “Miller” becomes the wing-woman to a glamorous new B.F.F., goes head-to-head with her house’s prickly Resident Alpha Female, and is drawn into a web of secrets by a charming Brit. But soon she finds herself entangled in one too many complicated romantic situations—and the many Hamptons Unwritten Rules threaten to implode her new, carefully cultivated social standing. Now the fabulous life Tori has might not be the one she wants, and she must decide who she really is, what she wants, and what she’s willing to give up to get there…all by Labor Day.

Great summer read - I couldn't put it down September 17, 2008 A fabulous debut for the author! This was a book that was so well written, perfectly descriptive (but not too much info), and I enjoyed reading every single page. Great summer read that read fast and I wished it hadn't ended. I can't add much about the story that other reviewers have already written about, but I can add that you need to buy this book because you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to reading more books by this author!
From J. Kaye's Book Blog September 12, 2008 This is a book that any female who's been through a bad break up will related to. It's be categorized as a beach read, but I think it's a bit more serious than that. Tori, through her break up that sent her on a two year depression that ends with a television transformation and summer weekends in the Hamptons, learns who she really is and in the end, finds love again.
My only complaint, I was halfway through the book before it became a page turner. The first half wasn't dry enough to put the book down permanently, but I couldn't sit for long periods and read it either. After the midway mark, shortly before George had his Mr. Happy/Mr. Sad moment, the book picked up. That's when I couldn't put it down and stayed up late to finish.
Unimpressed! August 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sherri Rifkin's "LoveHampton" centered around Tori Miller who was coaxed into sharing a Hamptons summer house by her friends and co-worker. Her friends thought it was time to move on after her breakup two years ago. Staying at the summer house was a whole new experience for Tori, as she spent her time drinking and partying with her housemates. Tori was soon drawn into the social scene of the Hamptons, and she realized that staying in a house full of strangers may be more challenging than she realized.
This was a below-average book for me, particularly in this genre. The plot was thin, characters not memorable, and overall, the book was just not engaging. The book focused mainly on the Hamptons' social scene, which was interesting in the beginning, but was rather dull towards the end of the book. "LoveHampton" is one of those books that is not memorable and potential readers are better off getting the book from the library.
Dry Martini August 9, 2008 If you liked Sex & the City -- you'll love this book. Sherri Rifkin's writing style is very charming (the main character is as darling as "Carrie Bradshaw's" character in SATC), and the book is a very easy read. Great summer book or one to take on an airplane.
LOVED HAMPTON!!! July 23, 2008 I read the review of Lovehampton in a People magazine, and it seemed like a light hearted summer-reading-romp. What I found was a thoroughly engaging story that made me want to keep reading, learning more about the characters and their "stories". And Sherri's writing, and the humor she brings to it, in every way, just made me laugh and smile all the way through! I question that I may have enjoyed it more than someone else because I grew up on Long Island (NOT the Hamptons) and certainly knew of the north vs. south fork lifestyles, but realized right away this was not the case! Sherri has a way to enthrall, and enroll the reader in a way that you feel like you are right there, living the life between Manhattan and the Hamptons! I think anyone can relate to the characters, as some of their types have crossed our paths in our own lives, no matter where you are from! Can't wait for her next one!!! Loved it loved it, loved it!
