| Customer Reviews:
Slightly disappointed January 9, 2007 The greatest thing about this table is the very nice playing surface. It looks great and is nicely padded. Everyone loves the player squares around the table and the "draw" squares on each end of the table. I personally wish the draw squares would have been placed in the center and facing either of the sides because that's where I deal from. But that's really not a big deal.
The table is very heavy. When it's folded there is nothing to lock it into place. This makes it extremely difficult to carry because without a practical area to grab onto, the table will easily unfold itself if you're not careful. It's definitely a two person job unless you leave in on the ground and roll it on it's edges, which I do not recommend on an abrasive floor.
Folding the table back up is also a two person job. This is because of the two spring-loaded two-way hinges that engage as soon as the table is unfolded. These hinges need to be folded and flattened by hand in order to fold the table back up. Unless you have three hands, it is impossible to hold both hinges flat while folding the table far enough closed to disengage the hinges.
I was also very dissapointed in the overall craftsmanship. The particle board is so badly warped that you can see one side of my table (lengthwise) leans down a little. One of the ends is so badly warped that the cup holder doesn't sit flush with the top of the rail. The vinyl along the rail is coming apart at the seams is some areas. Looking from the bottom of the table I noticed some of the cutouts for the cup holders had big chunks of particle board missing. There are also two layers of support rings (also made of particle board) that are not attached to each other cleanly. There are huge gaps at each connection point of these rings. That's very sloppy in my opinion.
For as heavy as the table is, I would think it would be a lot more sturdy. But I notice when people lean on the rails with both elbows the rail buckles. This is especially a problem for the side of the table that already leans down as it is. I wish they would stop using particle board for anything that needs to maintain shape hold weight.
This would be an awesome table if it wasn't so poorly crafted. And because it is so bulky, even when folded, finding a good storage location is also a challenge.
