Can you unleash a secret? December 18, 2002 If you can...tell anyone you know about this CD! Toni has outdone herself: most of the tracks produced by Babyface (including the Summer 1996 # 1 hit YOU'RE MAKING ME HIGH), but with support from David Foster (UN-BREAK MY HEART, written by Diane Warren and one of the best selling singles ever...), R. Kelly (I DON'T WANT TO), Soulshock & Carlin (I LOVE ME SOME HIM, extra nice tune to me...) and Toni Rich Project (COME ON OVER HERE). Add some studio help from Keny G. and a soundtrack tune (LET IT FLOW, from WAITING TO EXHALE), and the 3 bonus remixes of all of the singles off the CD - including the dancefloor anthem for UN-BREAK MY HEART... You will come up with one of the best R'n'B albums ever
mo elawad December 28, 2000 this album is a classic, i cant honestly say there's one single bad track on the whole album. ive got this special international release, its a little bit more expensive, but it includes three remixes which arent too bad, the best remix is probably the 'i dont want to' remix. unfortitly i cant say that her following album (The Heat) is as anythning like it, if you want some real toni, get this, babyface probably made the heat suck cause she tried to sue him... anyways, this album is for all rnb lovers peace
Secrets Concert review January 1996 (Chicago, United Center) March 13, 2000 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I thought that this was the best concert I have ever been to. Her voice was right on and her stage performance was energizing. She sang all her hits, including my favorite "Breathe Again". Also, the work done with Babyface on both albums, and Kenny G. on the "Secrets" album show that Toni Braxton is a well respected artist and has a voice to be reckened with, to share stage with great talents such as Babyface and Kenny G.
A voice with mystical magic. October 31, 1999 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Toni Braxton is one of few,.. yet long received female artists, who have definitely put their spiritual signatures of voice above all others. I wish she would continue with her God given talent...and share with us once again, her beautiful voice.

I've read the reviews, and no one mentions the cut on the album Secrets, "Why Should I Care For You". On this single, Babyface plays three different Guitars, opening with an acoustic guitar lead reminescent of the Isley Brothers' classic guitar solos. Toni then weaves a spirited, yet sad song about how her former lover wants to come back to her, but she asks the question constantly, "Why should I care?" Listen to this one, and I guarantee, you will become addicted to it, especially the sequence that goes: Back in the day, when I was young, I wasn't afraid to love. Back in the day, you were the one, what was I thinking of. Back in the day, I should have been wiser, I should have been on to you. But I was afraid, I'd make a mistake, no one knows....Tell me why (why should I care for you). After listening to this cut the first time, you will then be able to answer the question.
