....Much Respect... September 30, 2008 ...is due for this CD, it is original and I agree this is Rodney's finest work, I'm a black guy who favors black comedy because of the rawness of it, however I've always like Dangerfield and decided to add this to my collection.
Classic Rodney! Tons of laughs. August 10, 2008 Rodney Dangerfield was a very gifted comedian. There is no one who can take his place.
This cd is one of his best. The laughs start at once and don't end until he finally says "Sorry people shows over!" The crowd was ,(me included) left begging for more. He does a great encore, and even tangles with hecklers and fields questions from the audience, all with his brilliant humor, snappy timing and lightning fast comebacks.
I can never get enough Rodney. If you are new to him, this would make for an excellent introduction.
He will be missed!
Have fun laughing your butt off!
Superb April 12, 2008 Funniest man ever! A must own for every fan of the late Great One. Rodney was a master of his craft.
Masterful--Funny, Creative, and in Control June 30, 2007 I'd heard a variety of Rodney Dangerfield one-liners in my time, but always wondered, is it possible that an entire album of one-liners could be that funny? Absolutely! Dangerfield is an example of a comic whose delivery and persona perfectly match his subject matter. The lines come out of him non-stop, each one relying on his sad-sack persona for the extra bit of pathetic humor.
What's most impressive about Rodney Dangerfield--and I'd say the same of Jackie Mason when I saw him in concert--is the absolute mastery and control that he has over his material and the audience. There are several instances of heckling during his set and he quiets them down with a quick retort and doesn't so much as skip a beat. At the end of the album he answers some questions from audience members and shows a flair for both improvisational humor and the ability to tie audience comments back to his own material. I'm stunned that I got this CD for about $7. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better comedy value anywhere. (Just for your calibration purposes, my favorite comedians are "early" George Carlin, Robin Williams, Mitch Hedberg, Woody Allen, Steve Martin, Bill Cosby and the Sklar Brothers.)
Its Rodney! Of course it gets 5. May 16, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The world is a much sadder place without Rodney around. If you don't get some good hard laughs from these classic Rodney-isms, run to the hospital and try and get resuscitated. Hopefully its not too late.
To all the women on Internet dating sites who love to laugh and want to find a guy who can make them laugh, buy this and fall in love with Mr. Dangerfield.
