This is absolutely one of the funniest roasts ever captured on tape. However, it is not well recorded, and it is NOT for those easily offended! This 1968 recording features every four-letter word and sexual insult you can imagine (yes, even THAT one), all delivered with incredible timing and talent by Johnny Carson, Jack E. Leonard, Flip Wilson, Jackie Vernon, Ed Sullivan, Pat Paulson and other greats-including Rickles himself. Carson's routine is one of his finest ever. This is so far removed from those tame "Dean Martin Roasts" you remember on Network TV, it makes them pale in comparison. These were men-only events, and this recording sounds as unauthorized as it must have been. Part of it's charm is actually it's rough sound quality. A must-have for comedy collectors or for fans of any of the participants.
