Not best effort drags a bit. Frankie Laines take on title song much better for one example.

 "I Go Back" to Kenny's old music. November 25, 2008

I'm a huge fan of Kenny Chesney's music. I have all of his CDs. I've seen him in concert a number of times. All that doesn't mean that I am not objective when it comes to his music though. His past couple of albums have not been up to par. I want the old Kenny music back. A mix of upbeat and slow songs, songs about the beach and songs about growing up and everything else, but not just slow songs about the beach. Most of the songs on this album would not ever hit radio if it wasn't Chesney singing them. There are a few good ones, like Way Down Here, but for the most part everything sounds the same and is not real creative, musicly. So, for now, I will just "go back" and listen to some of his old stuff until he comes out of this musical mid-life crisis.

Each CD out does the last one. I especially love the Caribbean feel of this CD. Great music and the duo with Willie Nelson is the greatest.

if you are a fan of kenny chesney you will love this cd. you really feel in listening to this cd that he has done some soul searching in the writing of these songs.
