BRAVO, WAYNE NEWTON !!! December 28, 2007 Wayne Newton had a rather good voice and his fans adored him. This is an excellent album for the casual fan who wants a good introduction to Wayne's music. Fans who are more devoted to Wayne's talents will probably have these songs already.
The album starts wonderfully with Wayne's classic hit "Danke Schoen." Wayne never sounded better and the musical arrangement makes great use of the brass and percussion. This is one tune Wayne owns even today!
"Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast" gets the royal treatment from Wayne as he sings this to perfection. The backup vocalists and the strings enhance the beauty of the number. "Red Roses For A Blue Lady" sounds so sweet as Wayne delivers this flawlessly; I really like "Red Roses For A Blue Lady." Moreover, listen for an excellent interpretation of "I'll Be With You In Apple Blossom Time;" Wayne takes this classic tune and places his own stamp on it--and you won't regret listening to this number one bit!
"Summer Wind" features Wayne's vocals right there in the spotlight; and "Hello Dolly" has Wayne crooning to perfection. The brass and percussion on "Hello Dolly" help to make this a very special number.
"More" is yet another highlight of this album; Wayne does this so well with a Latin style musical arrangement.
I do have a complaint about this CD, unfortunately. It has only ten songs! Yes, it's also inexpensive; but I wish they had added at least one song. I will take off one star to make this a four star review. Humph!
Wayne Newton sure made quite an impression on his fans; and we continue to enjoy his music in our times.
Thank you, Wayne!

It comes down to this: if you liked the way Newton sounded when he was younger you'll like this CD. I bought it and was not disappointed. I never get tired of hearing Danke Shoen. The other tunes I like a lot are Remember When, Games that Lovers Play, etc. Pretty nifty package for the price. The guy enjoys singing and it shows. What more can you ask for?

Being a 24 year old mother, I don't usually find many friends that are fans. But I have loved him forever. I still have an old 45 of "Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast" that was my favorite as a small child. Listening to this CD brings back great mmories.
I'm a Newton Fan! It is a great cd, and I enjoy it daily. July 23, 1998 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have always been a Wayne Newton fan since I was a teen ager. I've seen him in person several times, and this brings back the memories of all the shows. I gave Wayne Newton a rose at Blinstrips, in South Boston back when he and I were just teens!
