Yes, the case is nice, the time is accurate, but the cuckoo bird is a bit nutty and maintains its right to sound off or not as the mood suits him or her. Don't rely on the bird's count of time or bother sending it back (made in China). Running on batteries the chains and weights below are just for show. All in all,and at the price,it's a worthwhile item.

This picture doesn't do this clock justice. Simply BEAUTIFUL!!! It is musch bigger than I exspected. For the price listed it is a steal. It's a christmas gift so I didn't unwrap it all the way I just opened it to check for damage. I'm sure this is gonna bring a unforgotten smile to the person face for life.

I'm in love with this elegant little clock and its charming resident cuckoo. I especially like the feature that keeps the clock silent during hours of darkness -- the cuckoo will actually retreat if you switch off the light in the middle of his regimen. The clock has kept flawless time for nearly a year without a change of batteries (though the description says it takes "2D" batteries, I'm pretty sure it in fact takes AAs, but I could be wrong). I'm very pleased with our choice -- and the price is really phenomenal as well.
