great January 8, 2009 Husband loves them, says all sound is blocked out while in a loud machine at work.
I love my headphones. December 27, 2008 These headphones make running machinery a whole new experience! I can tune in am radio from Ny. and Boston and follow a program. I am located all the way in Bar Harbor, Me. The reception is comparable to AM reception on my boom bob and alarm clock radio. Not a super radio but tolerable. The FM radio rocks. I love these things Big time . Real Talk Bro. I had our office manager order 4 sets for the grounds crew.
YOUR LISTENING TO SSHHHHH POINT SIX FM SSHHHHHH December 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The headset is comfortable and all the controls are easy to use. Great noise attenuation and the plug for the MP3 is perfect, which is why I bought the headset. The tuner is very weak and I find it to be more frustration than use, unless you don't mind holding your head in one position or live next door to the broadcasting antenna. I find that the fillings in my teeth get better reception. Other than that it's a good set. The volume doesn't get too loud but then again the whole idea is hearing protection. I set my MP3 to the loudest volume setting and it is perfect in the headset. Interestingly the headset doesn't have to be turned on to use it this way. I haven't tried it without batteries so I don't know if they are required to use it with the MP3. I suspect they are not.
hearing protector w/music December 23, 2008 I got these for my husband for work. He even wears them while cutting the grass now! He loves them! I do however, have to remind him that it doesn't mean that he doesn't have to listen to me anymore! Great price...I checked around and they are not easy to find!
Peltor 90541 Worktunes hearing protector December 18, 2008 I just received this headset, the eighth Peltor AM/FM headset and third incarnation of these hearing protectors I own. I'm very pleased with the new design. For those who've never owned a set of these, let me assure you that the reception is not the best. Simply moving your head may cause the sound to drop out, which is the reason I gave it only four stars. (If that really bothers you, just connect an MP3 player with the included chord.) It is, however, as good as any of the other seven Peltor AM/FM headsets I own, and seems noticibly better than several of them. The ability to simultaneously protect my hearing in just about any work environment (nail guns, jackhammers, circular saws, you name it) and provide entertainment and news is worth that small quibble--you learn to deal with it. The ease of locating/switching stations (the inconsistent reception can make this problematic) with the digital tuning makes these by far the best set of the lot. I was also delighted to find they use flash memory so you won't lose your presets when changing batteries. Experiences will vary, of course, but I've had only one pair of these fail. If you listen to only one station, get the cheaper dial-tuning model. If, like me, you have a variety of tastes or perhaps want to easily set diffferent stations for widely-spaced worksites, or if you want the ability to connect your CD player or iPod, this is the better set to buy.
