5 out of 5 stars Very few D12s   December 24, 2008
Not including miniature d6s (I got about 2 dozen small d6s that I'll probably never use to actually roll), I got the following:

24 d20s
2 d12s
22 d10s
5 d8s
35 d6s
5 d4s

All the dice appeared usable. A couple d10s had a funky paint job but none of them looked chipped.

5 out of 5 stars Dice, cheap.   December 18, 2008
I found this to be a pretty nice selection of dice. I received 112 total dice. If you're not picky about mix-and-match sets, you can get a pretty nice array of dice.

Here's how my pound broke down:
(8) d4; (16) d6 [pips]; (9) d6[#s]; (1) XL d6; (4) mini d6; (11) micro d6; (14) d8; (19) d10; (4) d10%; (8) d12; (18) d20

Included in this count is a complete 7-piece matching set of dice enclosed in a small paper envelope.

You could put together 4 complete non-matching sets with what was included, and if you weren't picky about having seperate d10% dice, you could substitute a regular d10 and create at least 8 sets of 7-dice sets. For the price, you can't find a bargain like that!

4 out of 5 stars Many Dice   December 16, 2008
This was a great assortment of dice. There was a good mix of die types from D4-D20. The "special" speckled dice weren't all that fancy, but they still are cool in their own way. There was a lot of mini (1/4") D6's, but all in all a good buy.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome product - far exceeded my expectations   December 11, 2008
The dice I received were excellent quality - the same quality as you would get if you purchased the individual sets.

I also received one mega-sized d6, which I was not expecting, but its GREAT for those games that only need one d6, like Munchkin!

Distribution:
22 d20s (Wewt! I no longer have an excuse for poor rolling in my 4e group!)
11 d12s
22 d10s
10 d8s
38 d6s - 1 mega sized, 13 mini sized, 24 regular-sized
4 d4s

4 out of 5 stars great deal; some weird dice in here, too   December 10, 2008
We need new dice for our D&D game. I ordered a Chessex Pound-o-Dice from an
Amazon vendor, Rookie's HQ Games and Cards. Here's what we got:

* 7 die set, pale pink with green numbers and orange speckles
* 11 d4, various styles
* 8 d6, numbered, normal size, various styles
* 12 d6, pipped, normal size, various styles
* 1 d6, pipped, slightly oversize, solid indigo
* 1 d6, pipped, slightly undersize, translucent green
* 14 d6, pipped, tiny, various styles
* 7 d6, pipped, tiny, various styles, drilled for stringing
* 4 d6, pipped, miniscule, green, drilled for stringing
* 4 d8, various styles
* 23 d10, ones-place, various styles
* 5 d20, tens-place, various styles
* 4 d10, unmarked, marbled (three red/black, one green/black)
* 1 d10, unmarked, sparkly
* 6 d12, various styles
* 1 d12, slightly oversize, solid red, numbered 0 - 10 and star
* 15 d20, all speckled and regular

The very small and unmarked dice are basically useless. I will probably throw
away the very small ones. Even those that are not drilled do not seem regular
enough to roll properly, and their size makes them novelties, anyway.

I have no idea whether anyone has a use for unmarked d10s. I suppose I could
paint a label on them, or something, but that's not going to happen.

I don't mind the distribution I got, although a few more numbered d6s would've
been nice. I'll probably buy more, once I review what kind of dice I'm going
to need most often. I'm also a bit disappointed that the single vs. double
digit d10 disparity is so high.

I wonder what the purpose of that weird d12 is. I wonder whether D&D 4th
Edition uses d12 as rarely as 1st edition did. I seem to recall it was
basically used for ranger hit dice and halberd damage.

Quite a few of the d10s were of a style I'd never seen before. One half of the
die was one color, and the other was a different color. They color change
along the middle of the die. I like them, and would probably buy more in that
style if I was a die collector.

I consider the Pound-o-Dice a success. If I need more dice (without
specificaly needing a lot of one type) I will definitely get another pound.
