Customer Reviews:
convenient, but not durable July 1, 2008 This Scrabble set is a convenient little game, but the tiles are very very small pieces of plastic and hard to handle sometimes. Great for kids to play with, but should really cost a little less, around $[...].
Clever Packaging April 6, 2008 This product has clever packaging of an old favorite board game: Scrabble. Game has it's own merits as a teaching tool and also as a challange for adults who like the competition of a higher score.
Travel Life Saver March 16, 2008 My wife and I are retired but travel 50,000 miles a year -- often to get a "grandparent fix." Whenever we travel, we have our Scrabble Travel Set and paperback Scrabble dictionary with us. It has been a real lifesaver. We play Scrabble while sitting in airports, in our seats on the airplane and wherever we may be on our travels. I suggest ordering an extra set of letters as they require some dexterity because of the smaller size of the Scrabble board. I have climbed under airplane seats looking for missing letters. It takes up very little room, weighs little and has become a travel necessity for us. R.G., Brandon, Florida, USA
FANTASTIC, COMPACT FUN!!! January 6, 2008 My husband and I selected this as a purchase with a gift certificate from our wedding. We are both Scrabble players, and have regular boards (and later on added Scrabble Deluxe to our collection) with which to play. However, we wanted something that we could throw in the car and take with us on weekend trips or to play while snuggling in bed on the weekends or evenings. (Call us romantics...) Three years later, it is still probably one of our favorite purchases and one we use regularly. True, the tiles may try to snap out of place if you do not put them in right the first try, but we have no problems after figuring that out now.
I would recommend this as a great wedding gift to couples for spending quiet time together. You really get addicted to it, and it helps keep your vocabulary and mind sharp for years to come. :)
scrabblicious December 31, 2007 This travel case is the perfect size for bringing on trips. Just brought it on a 27 hour train ride and it was great! The tiles stay in well and it's hard to lose them (unless you drop them). Once you figure out how to snap them in, the tile holders are cool and work well when pausing the game (and making sure you dont drop the tiles when it's not your turn!). It's recommended to get yourself a two-letter word list and pocket dictionary. Both fit well in the case. Enjoy!
