I love this show, I never saw it when it originally aired on TV, so I went to the DVDs since friends said I'd love it. First viewing a couple of episodes I wasn't sucked in, but when I saw the one where he has to take his shoes off at the porno actor's house, I had a flashback! It was hilarious and also close to home. Oddly, I had the same situation happen to me years ago! Larry David's themes may sometimes seem trite, but they aren't, he goes deeper and deeper into many Hollywood and personal taboos and the results are works of art. The fact that he's Jewish, from the East Coast and now a transplanted LA LA Lander makes it all the more fun for us transplanted New Yorkers. I bought a couple of seasons for each parent and now they're converts.

I love this series, and am waiting to buy the rest of the show.
If you've ever seen this series on HBO, you don't need me to tell you to buy it for you.

I was a fan of Seinfeld so I thought I would like Curb more than I did. There were some funny moments and lines, but I never once laughed out loud. Frankly every show was sort of the same thing. Larry insults someone, either by accident or intentionally, then spends the rest of the episode trying to weasel himself out of trouble. This setup got old after a few shows and I kept watching waiting for them to do something different.
As I understand it, Larry David was the model for George in Seinfeld. Watching Curb is watching only George for a half an hour. I found out that that irritates me more than making me laugh. Larry David is very good at his style of humor, but a whole show focusing on him wasn't as funny to me as it sounded.

CYE is soooo funny, I don't mind watching over and over. Problem is my cable service only offers 10 episodes and I'm so hooked, I need to own every season, so I just purchased season one and look forward to owning the entire six seasons.
The humor is literally,laugh out loud, rewind and laugh again. The show is perfectly cast and in my opinion, it's the funniest show on televison. I'm really pleased that Vivica Fox has been added to the cast for season six.
